More about the Hickory Signals

Hickory Signals is a Brighton-based duo taking inspiration from the folk music of England, Ireland, Scotland and the USA, performing original music as well as interpretations of traditional tunes with pared-down instrumentation. Hickory Signals accompany strong vocal melodies with acoustic guitar, flute, glockenspiel and a variety of percussion, building songs carefully and minimally to atmospheric effect.

“its raw folk music pulsing through the woodland and echoing from the top of a hill”.
Paul Tyldesley, Professional story teller.

“Harnessing inspirations and canvassing their own interpretations of traditional Irish folk music was the shining dagger that opened an entire room of hearts at the Brunswick last month. Laura’s Vocals and Adam’s finger picking are a joy to become absorbed in”.
Rich Ward, Overhead Wires Promotions.
